About BuyGold

Published September 13, 2026. Last verified September 13, 2026.

If you have tried to research how to buy gold, you have hit the problem: nearly every “top gold companies” list is an advertisement. The sites earn a commission every time they send you to a company, so the “winner” is usually just the highest bidder. The advice is shaped by who pays, not by what is true.

We think people deserve better than that when they are deciding what to do with their savings. So BuyGold does one thing: we evaluate every precious-metals company against the same published scoring method, and we show you the whole picture, the strengths, the weaknesses, and the specific type of buyer each company is actually best for. A company that is great for a $50,000 concierge rollover is a poor choice for someone buying $100 of gold a month, and the reverse is true too. We say so plainly.

We make no money from the companies we review. No commissions, no ad deals, no pay-to-rank. That is what lets us tell you when the best-known name is the wrong choice for you.

How we are different, in one line

We publish our method, we apply it to everyone the same way, and we show our losses as openly as our wins.

What we cover, and what we do not

We cover US retail precious-metals buying: allocated platforms, gold-IRA dealers, and bullion retailers. We do not cover numismatic and collectible valuation, mining equities, futures and options, non-US jurisdictions, or tax advice, and nothing here is personalized financial advice.
